Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field. Minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in environmental, health and safety. Proven track record of successful results. Knowledge of local, state and federal safety compliance and regulatory issues, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act. OSHA 10 or 30 Hour Training (or equivalent) Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar quality/EHS certifications desired, but not required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. Strong knowledge of EH&SM standards. Proven teamwork experience in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of case management procedures and issues relating to workmen’s compensation and other workplace safety issues.

Job Duties: Supervises and provides work direction to safety staff. Ensures all accidents and injuries are investigated and documented. Organizes and schedules training sessions and provides onsite safety training for employees. Performs onsite inspections to ensure compliance with OSHA and coordinates industrial hygiene services such as noise levels, equipment and air quality, etc. Evaluates and provides guidelines on safety equipment and supplies according to ANSI standard. Maintains high level of safety awareness and ensures consistency of safety program implementation. Assesses and ensures compliance with local, state and federal food safety, environmental, health and safety regulations. Ensures compliance with OSHA standards. Participates in regulatory agency inspections/audits, and develops and implements corrective actions. Monitors active workers compensation files and ensures best possible resolution of the workers compensation claims. Evaluates and continuously improves operational risk prevention process effectiveness. Adheres to safe work practices, follows GMP, maintains sanitary conditions and ensures that product quality is maintained.
